New Green Past Pupils’ Choir! (1st Rehearsal: Mon 18th @ 19.30)

A new choir for Green Past Pupils has been formed.

It’s an ideal way to bring together Past Pupils of all ages, as well as opening up new social and fundraising possibilities.

While the main focus will be on enjoyment, we will however be working towards performance standard, and in time, will be available to sing on special occasions – charity fundraisers, Carol-singing, Masses, concerts, etc.

In time, we hope to build up a very varied repertoire.

I‘m delighted to announce that Caoimhe Ní Áinle, from the school’s Music Department, has agreed to come on board as conductor. Any of you who attended the School’s 175th Anniversary Concert in the National Concert Hall last year, will know the magic she produces from the wonderful school choirs.

Caoimhe is very enthusiastic and excited to be working with the Green Past Pupils’ choir. If you haven’t sung in a while, or you’re not too sure about your voice, don’t be put off. Enthusiasm will carry us a long way!

The Green Past Pupils Choir will be launched at the A.G.M. in the school on November 7th, when the choir will sing at the Mass for Deceased Members at 2 p.m.

If you would like to join the choir, please contact the GPPA at catherineanne@loretothegreenpastpupils.ie

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Congratulations, Alison!

We are very proud to announce that the new President of the LPPU is our own Alison Byrne (Class of ’85).
Alison takes over the reins from Oisine Hemeryk (Loreto Dalkey). For many years, Alison has been a hardworking member of the LPPU, and it’s great to see her get the recognition she deserves. Understandably Alison will be stepping back from her duties on the Green Past Pupils’ Committee for the duration of her Union presidency. We wish her all the very best at the Union helm, and we look forward to seeing many Green girls supporting her at the various Union events.
