Looking for the Perfect Christmas Gift for a Former Loreto Student?

The Parents’ Association recently commissioned two limited edition photographs of the Loreto on the Green front door, which are available for sale at €50 each.

Photographer Fionán O’Connell has kindly given his services free of charge for this worthy cause and aside from production costs all proceeds will go to the Marc Owen’s Medical Fund.

Marc is the brother of two of the students in the Green, who, since last September has been receiving specialised oncology treatment. All monies raised for the fund will go directly to covering the cost of Marc’s medical expenses.

The photos show two views of the main hall door.The actual prints are 8×12″ in size, printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Paper and the mounts are cut to an outside dimension of 12×16″ to facilitate fitting into a ready made frame.

GPPA Mini Marathon Fundraiser Appeal!!

On the Bank Holiday Monday next, June 6th, on behalf of the GPPA,  Catherine-Anne will be taking part in the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon to raise funds for the Loreto-based Crumlin Adult Education Centre.

The Centre was established to meet the needs of the local community, especially women, through the provision of opportunities for human growth and community development. The Centre aims to help people realise their own self-worth and potential, and to develop resources for more creative and effective living.

The Programme includes Personal Development, Stress Management, Women’s Health, Family Communications, Life Skills, Spirituality, UCD Outreach Programme in Women’s Studies, as well as back-up services such as counselling.

Sr. Brede Quirke, IBVM, is the co-ordinator of the centre, and she has strong links with the Green.

The Green Past Pupils’ Association considers this a very worthwhile cause and is delighted to be able to assist Sr. Brede in her work in the Centre.
