The Loreto Hockey Club will be having a Fundraiser Race Night on Saturday, 28th January 2012 at 8 p.m., in The Goat Grill, Goatstown. All funds will go towards building a new clubhouse. All welcome!

Loreto Union Day 2011 was held in Loreto Abbey, Dalkey.
The day’s proceedings began with Mass, at which the Green Past Pupils’ choir, Verdi 53, was invited to sing. Loreto past pupils from all over Ireland attended, and enjoyed a wonderful harp recital afterwards. Teas and coffees were served, and there was a great opportunity to catch up with [...]

The story goes that Sister Hildegarde spotted the “Weather House” on the Gypsum Lorry at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, sometime in the very late ’50s or very early ’60s and asked Úna’s father if the school could have it [...]

On Saturday, 3rd December, the school was open to Green Past Pupils and friends to drop in for tea, coffee, mince pies and a little Christmas spirit. Many Green Past Pupils took up the invitation, and brought with them gifts for under the Christmas Tree, all of which were delivered to Sr. Bernadette to distribute [...]

[ December 15, 2011; 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. ] Verdi 53 will be Christmas Carolling on Grafton Street from 6 to 8p.m. on Thursday, 15th December.

We have been in touch with some of the Loreto sisters living and working in the community, who are aware of families who are struggling.
In response to this, The G.P.P.A. has started a new initiative, Family to Family. It is hoped that this will provide opportunities to help families in need in a practical way.

The Parents’ Association recently commissioned two limited edition photographs of the Loreto on the Green front door, which are available for sale at €50 each.
Photographer Fionán O’Connell has kindly given his services free of charge for this worthy cause and aside from production costs all proceeds will go to the Marc Owen’s Medical Fund.

[ June 6, 2011; ] On the Bank Holiday Monday next, June 6th, on behalf of the GPPA,  Catherine-Anne will be taking part in the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon to raise funds for the Loreto-based Crumlin Adult Education Centre.

The Centre was established to meet the needs of the local community, especially women, through the provision of opportunities for human growth [...]

[ May 22, 2011; 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. ] The Green Past Pupils Choir, Verdi 53, has been invited to sing at the Loreto Past Pupils’ Union Day Mass.
To be held in Loreto Dalkey on Sunday, 22nd May at 2.30pm. After the Mass there will be a musical concert, followed by refreshments and chat.

All past pupils from any Loreto school are welcome to attend.

The annual ‘Maytime Music Concert’ presented by the current Green students
takes place in The O’Reilly Theatre, Belvedere College on Monday, 16th and Tuesday,17th of May.

 
Tickets are €25 for adults and €10 for students.
 
The concerts are part of the fundraising the Green is organising to help cover the cost of cancer treatment [...]
